Today (Making Creativity Happen)

Please tell me you’ve gotten behind on your Creative Family Advent.

(((Well, I have too.)))

Just checking back in here to tell you (and myself) that it is ok!  This doesn’t have to happen every day, and you do not have to go back and make up what you missed.  If you have participated in any activity that is drawing your family together this season, you have done something wonderful.  And if you haven’t started yet, it isn’t too late!!!  If you missed something that is important to you, do it today.  If there is something coming up ahead that you don’t want to forget about, do it today or write it on your calendar.  Today is the best day to make creativity happen.

So far, the Found Object Nativity Scene has been my favorite.  We laughed a lot when we read the Christmas mad-libs (Dear Santa, Family Christmas Letter) And I have truly enjoyed hearing my children reading Christmas stories to send to friends and getting stories back. I forgot how much my children love to listen to stories and draw with the Nutcracker story and coloring pages.   The origami gift bows will be on lots of our gifts this year under the tree.  A couple of the upcoming days I don’t want to miss are: The Christmas Tea Party and The Gift of Words.

If you’ve gotten behind like me, take a moment to look over the Creative Family Advent list, and pick something for today.

If you have been following along with us, I would love to know what your favorite activity has been so far and which you are most looking forward to…  Write me in the comments and let me know!

Wishing you a new start at goals for the holiday season.  Today is a gift.  Embrace it.  Do something that your heart longs to do with your little ones.  (I am saying this to myself as well as to you.)

Love,

Mackenzie
